about
Silkhannas is one of the many names given to describe Satan. This word is taken off directly from a sentence in the Quran. The root word is actually "Khannas" which means "whisper". By whispering, Satan technically do not command his target to do evil. Satan actually whispers doubts. The word "was-was" preceeds "Khannas" in that sentence to describe doubts whispered by Khannas. A simple action which became very impactful. Also, check out the veteran death metal band from Malaysia using this name.
The intro riff was taken from the end of "Doom Upon Mankind" from the "Unleashing Vrykolakas Upon Mankind" album. We had intended for all albums to have continuity (at least in the titles) to tell the story of VRYKOLAKAS (the band). The actual song starts at 0:57. The riff here is a tribute to Singapore's INFIDEL. It is taken from the song "Thrown Into Oblivion" from their demo "Flames Of Redemption". The song builds up with more mid-paced and typical death metal riffs which you commonly hear from death metal releases in the 90s.
The turning point of the song came at the 4:10 mark of the song. We decided to write a riff which could trigger the listeners into a headbanging phase. *The SADIST RECORDS version has guitar leads to make this part more groovy and moshy. After this, a few more death metal riffs before ending the song with INFIDEL's riff.
When the song was completely mixed, we felt proud because it reminds us of a song that would fit nicely into the albums of BOLT THROWER, CANCER, BENEDICTION, DECREPIT, GRAVE and many more mid-paced death metal of the 90s.
lyrics
SILKHANNAS FALL FROM GRACE
Born of fire
Shining through the darkness of endless galaxies
Archangel, of the highest throne
A loyal warrior among the assembly of light
With proudest pride, commits to the task
The golden halls, cast reflections
Of a throne, made of rainbow jewels
The shining sparkles, formed a mirage,
Of a newly, enthroned king
The image shapens, took its final form
A mental vision, turns into fruition
A coronation, to rule all
It was Silkhannas, enthroned and crowned
An enemy appeared, he was moulded from soil
The assembly of light, had to bow down and kneel
A celestial joke? This has not been written
This being of light, forced to bow down to soil?
The assembly trembled at the rebellious defiance
A sentence was cast – to hell eternally
“Greater to rule in hell, than to serve in this fantasy!”
“I bow to none! You will never see me kneel!”
A hellish request was granted upon him
To forever tempt the believers to a path of infidels
Lust and greed, desire are ornaments of life
The beginning of the serpent temptation
The heavenly gates, fade to obscurity
The rebellious others, swore him their loyalty
Vast clouds of darkness, became their sanctuary
Jahannam’s wrath, feeding their jealousy
Let there be sin and evil in humanity
Born of light now hatefueled blackened fire
A new name for a new entity
“For all that leads to hell shall bear my name!”
Dethroned from the assembly of light
Await the coronation of the crown of thorns
Enthroned upon the pure faith of men
Deviate mankind from the divine truth
Still shining through the darkness of endless galaxies
Archdemon, of the lowest abyss
A blasphemous warrior among the assembly of darkness
With blackened hate, commits to the treachery
Formed in July 1991 as a 2-piece band, playing black death metal. Went through a period of hiatus. Reformed in 1999 with a complete line-up, playing brutal death metal. Now a studio band focusing on writing and producing death metal songs.

Pretty much the best Black/Speed Metal I've listened to since I learned about Evil Invaders and Vulture. Everything you'd love to be reminded of about this musical era is there. The influences are what you'd expect too: Motörhead, Venom, Bathory, early Slayer, Celtic Frost; aggressive vocals, tortured guitar solos, pounding drums; everything is fast, clear and still a little grimy, but without reverb cranked up to the max. Amazing band, amazing album. Odiumediae

From the first chords of the lead in to the Terrorizer cover to close out the album this is a non-stop buzzsaw of OG style grind. Blasts, grooves, tempo changes, this release has it all. Infinitely listenable and ranks right up there with some of the best grind from any era while still sounding fresh and current in today’s world. Kill Division is killing the game. ufobigfoot
